Course Overview

This course will more deeply explore concepts introduced in the Essentials course.  It will also introduce users to more solid modelling tools to assist in creating complex parts and assemblies.

The Autodesk Fusion Intermediate course provides you with a deeper understanding of the parametric design tools introduced in the Fusion Essentials course.  These design tools will be built on and expanded to sheet metal, part and assembly design.  Movement and relationships between components in assemblies will be explored as well as a few more drawing functions.  The learning will be done through a mix of theory and hands-on, practice-intensive sessions.

Course Objectives

After completing this course participants should be able to understand and/or create:

  • Create 3D sketch geometry.
  • Understand how to and create more complex part geometry.
  • Leverage “Automated Modelling”.
  • Apply and manage Materials and Appearances.
  • Create rendered images.
  • Design sheet metal components and assemblies.
  • Use sheet metal features in 2D drawings.
  • Use Joints and Rigid Groups more effectively in assemblies.
  • Drive movement in an assembly.
  • Create drawings with Breakout Section and Perspective views.
  • Add custom tables to drawings.
  • Drawing template creation.

Who Should Attend?

Users who are wanting to expand on their basic knowledge of Fusion to create more complex designs.

Pre-requisites

  • Users should have previously attended a Fusion Essentials course or have a good understanding of the basics covered in the Essentials course
  • Experience with the Windows operating system.
  • Having a background in drafting of 3D parts is recommended.

  1. Students are to be at the training venue by 08h00 in preparation for a 08h30 start time.
  2. Bookings can only be considered confirmation on receipt of payment.
  3. Bookings may be changed up to three weeks in advance of the course. A fee of 20% will be levied to cover charges.
  4. For full day courses, we will supply you with the relevant training material. A desktop computer to use for the training (where
    applicable) tea/coffee and a full lunch for full day InClass training hosted at the training center only. Catering is not included for OnSite training
  5. Cancellation or rescheduling requests must be in writing and reach us at least 5 (five) working days prior to the course commencement date.
    Full course fees may be retained for no shows or requests within 5 working days prior to commencement.
  6. Although we go to great lengths to ensure that all training proceeds as scheduled, we reserve the right to cancel or postpone\
    dates if we require to do so and undertake to inform clients in writing and telephonically of these changes.
  7. We suggest clients wait until a week prior to course commencement that a course has been confirmed to go ahead as scheduled
    before booking flight and accommodation. We are NOT responsible for cost associated with cancellation of classes such as flight
    and accommodation for clients.
  8. Full training fees will apply if the above condition is not complied with.
  9. Errors and Omissions Excepted.
